Assemblymember Mark González invites you to join him for Tacos & Taxes, a free community event offering professional tax preparation assistance and complimentary tacos.

In partnership with Golden State Opportunity, this event connects hardworking families with trusted tax professionals who can help file simple returns and determine eligibility for valuable tax credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

Who Qualifies?

This event is open to individuals and families with an annual income of $69,000 or less who need assistance filing a simple tax return.

Appointments are required to ensure each participant receives personalized support.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

The VITA program provides free tax help to eligible individuals who generally earn $69,000 or less per year and file simple returns.

Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)

The California EITC (CalEITC) may be worth up to an additional $3,756.

These credits can mean thousands of dollars back for eligible households.

Can't Attend?

Additional free tax preparation sites are available throughout the district, including locations in Boyle Heights, Little Tokyo, Westlake, MacArthur Park, Chinatown and Koreatown.

Residents are encouraged to contact those sites directly to schedule an appointment.

Virtual Know Your Rights Workshop in Korean

Join Assemblymember Mark González and the Korean American Federation of Los Angeles (KAFLA) for an important Know Your Rights virtual workshop focused on immigrant rights.

The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) will provide a comprehensive presentation on legal protections and resources available to the community.

This session will be conducted in Korean.

Tacos & Taxes Event

In partnership with Golden State Opportunity, the Office of Assemblymember Mark González is offering free tax preparedness help to individuals who file simple returns and earned less than $66,000 or less in 2024. Receive tax preparation assistance with your federal and state taxes while enjoying free tacos!

Staff will also be on site to discuss legislative issues related to the communities as well as to provide information on how the district office can help you with state agencies.
