Assemblymember Mark González's Statement on the Execution of Renee Nicole Good by ICE Agents in Minneapolis

For immediate release:

SACRAMENTO, CA — Today, Assemblymember Mark González has issued the following statement after the public execution of Renee Nicole Good by Federal ICE Agents in Minneapolis:

“ICE does not give a single shit who you are, how long you’ve lived here, or how hard you’ve worked,” said Assemblymember Mark González (D-Los Angeles). “They are coming for ALL of us. They are armed with fear, force, and zero accountability.”

“To claim she 'used her vehicle as a weapon’ is a cowardly lie meant to justify a cold, reckless, and fucking disgusting abuse of power and a complete disregard for human life.

I unequivocally condemn the actions of federal agents in Minneapolis. The fatal shooting of Renee was a public execution, NOT self-defense.

This administration’s agenda is violent at its core. What we are witnessing is cruelty, and anyone staying silent while this happens is complicit.”

Assemblymember Mark González is the Assembly Majority Whip. He serves on the Committees on Appropriations, Health, Public Safety, Rules, and Utilities & Energy. He represents the 54th District, composed of the cities of Los Angeles, Commerce, Montebello, and Vernon.
